Hi Iris and welcome to the group. I am not sure what these little beads or pots are but I think you saw and captured an interesting abstract composition. It is a little soft but that doesn't really take away from the impact of the shot too much. Nice muted colors. Can you tell us a little more about the equipment you used for this shot?

Hi Iris, welcome to DPS! Don't worry, lots of beginners here.

You have an eye for some interesting subjects. Clockdoc is right about your first picture. I also notice a little lack of sharpness in some of your other images. Are you taking these handheld? You might not be holding the camera steady. I assume you are using the autofocus feature. I have a problem holding my camera steady so I use a tripod whenever I can. Your depth of field is nice on your purple flower; you want the background to blur so your subject stands out. The plate seems a little blurred at the front. I think this is a subject where you want the whole thing in focus because of the beautiful pattern. You could try taking the picture looking straight done from the top. Or you could keep the angled shot but set your aperture to a higher number (I just noticed your camera only goes to f/4.9, so that may not be an option). Your last shot is an interesting contrast between the pretty colorful flowers and the hard gray stone.
You're doing a good job, but watch the focusing.

I just did a quick review of your camera and it appears to be a fine instrument. You said that you are new to the camera and it appears that you like to shoot closeups. Have you experimented with the "macro" feature of your camera? I noted that the plate photo was shot at 1/40 second. It is difficult to hand hold shots at this speed without getting some camera movement. The ISO's of your shots appear to vary as well so I suspect you are using the auto mode. Keep shooting and asking questions. We'll be happy to help where we can.

Actually yes, i am new to the camera. I got it the day before yesterday.i have a lot of things to discover until i use this camera at it's full capacity. before this one i had a benq. And indeed i prefere to take hand hold shots mostly because the ideas come at that moment and i don't always have a tripod with me.
The photo of the purple flowers is made using the macro feature.
Thanks a lot for your opinions.

Enjoy your camera as it is a good one! Since you like to shoot hand-held much of the time you may want to read up on how to use shutter speed priority and set it for 1/250 second or higher. Don't be afraid to use higher ISO ratings to get a faster sgutter speed since you are still learning how to use your camera. You already seem to have a good eye for composition so the only thing left is to shoot lots and lots of pictures. Good shooting!
