Default Sunny nap

Hi all. Me again. Luckily for me I could disable all beeping in the camera. Please tell me what you think.

I like it - a lot!

Reconsidering - if you want to call it sunny nap, then maybe it ought to brighten a little. Rather than change the image, I think I might consider changing the title.

Excellent! I agree that it is a little dark but sharp as a tack! Great skin tones. I took a look at the larger version and found it interesting that there are two AA batteries placed on the top of the bench. You may want to 'cover' the person in the background as they don't add to the value of the image. Can you share how to made the transformation from color to this monochrome version?

Believe it or not, I took this picture with my former camera (Canon A70) in BW mode; no color original exists. I also think the photo could be a little bit brighter, but I actually prefer it darker as it came from the camera for two reasons: one, the overall tones are dark (bench is dark, the sweater and shirt were filthy and the subject, being a homeless, had some serious tan).

Two, I think it is a contradictory photo: on one hand, it depicts a sad reality; on the other, the subject shows or implies much less stress than your average citizen. "Sunny nap" implies happiness, but there is not much apparent happiness in the picture... ¿or there is?. Nevertheless, I'm still thinking about the brightness.

I would have liked to have a shallower depth of field in order to defocus the people in the background, but my camera was too limited to permit that.

Thanks for your comments!.
