Default Nice Photo!

Hi windrider86:
It's a pretty nice flower you got there. I liked a lot the colors. Also I'm new on this so don't bother much with my comments hehe. The only thing I would like to see is the flower macro without the fly. I think it's making a little distraction and the flower is so cute that the fly is just out of topic. !Thanks for sharing your garden! Good job!

Your Olympus E500 did a nice job on this flower for you. Even though you shot at f/8, the depth of field is starting to fall off a bit at the right side. Since you are dealing with such small depth, you have to carefully consider where your camera is placed in relationship to the 'plane' or surface of the flower. Angling one way or the other can cause some softness due to lack of depth of field. You may also want to try using the telephoto focal length of your lens in the macro mode which will allow you to be a bit farther away from the subject. As always when shooting macro shots I try to shoot several exposures as you never know where the autofocus will decide to land. Was there a flash fill used here as wel? Nice colors. I look forward to seeing more of your work.

Thank you so much for your help! I do beleive the auto flash on the camera was used. Lord am I getting senile as I cant remember if it was set or not!
I actually did try using the different lens while the camera was set in macro mode but wasnt pleased with the lack of detail as a result.
This particular camera is new as is the macro lens. So am learning and every lil tip I get is appreciated more than you know. I'm pretty new at this as well (in case you couldnt tell)
