Default Sunset Road

I'm still hooked on HDR

Two views. You decide what one you like best. I prefer #1 much more.

Yes, I agree with you Trelaflip. They are both good shots but the road leading off to the distance adds a lot to the first one. Nice work.

John.

Definately the first one. The lead out point of the road makes the shot. Nice work.

As far as composition, #1 is best. You may want to try cropping (or cloning) out the line crossing the road road as it acts as a "speed bump" slowing my eye from getting into the photo. The second one has some nice overall color qualities that he first doesn't have. HDR workied well for you. Can you share how you achieved these results? Nice work!

I also like the first one the best for these reasons:

-the road is leading the eye (as stated by many others).
-that tree on the far left complements the building on the right and nicely frames that end of the shot.
-the clouds are more interesting and add the 'third' element to your nicely done rule of thirds composition (tree, clouds/road, building).

I agree with clockdoc that cloning out that horizontal line on the road might be beneficial.

I think the second shot probably draws your eye because of the striking green grass, but it lacks the composition quality of the first. You really do well with HDR! Thanks for sharing your stunning images!

I love the first shot. It really places the viewer in the picture -- here I am traveling down this road with the beautiful sunset and the lovely country all around me.
