Nice capture of the seagull in flight. Because of the direction the bird is flying, this may be stronger with the cropping in a vertical format andthe gull positioned in the upper left third of the frame. As shown, there is a bit too much open space on the left hand side of the image.

I agree with clockdoc on all accounts. Great shot, but cropping it so the bird on the bottom left might give it an interesting and different look.
Another thing I might suggest is cheating. The sky is sort of bland, which is good in a sense that it's simplistic and draws the eyes to the main subject. But you could try to add clouds in the bg to make it look different. If you're interested, just go outside on a nice cloud day, snap some shots, then crop the bird out of the shot and into the nice cloud pic |
