Default Rock pillar

I tried this shot about 20 times. I think this one turned out the best.

In this shot, to me it seems that the no parking sign is distracting IMHO,
I think that it should either be made more of a dominant subject, or not be in there.

I agree with steve. You have a much better abstract shot if you crop out the sign and play with angles/textures of the column. Perhaps there a reason you left the sign in the shot?

blzrd,

A late sun (or early if this is a morning shot) with no roof shadow, would turn your sign rosey and give an unusual textural look to the brick. You might even get some good sky effect UR. Twenty more, 10 minutes, it's a good subject.

Yeah I took this one in early morning after I got off work (I work graves and this is out in front of my work). it was about 7AM on one of the most overcast days I have ever seen. I will take another one with my tripod tomorrow morning. I will also probably make a white balance card (the black, grey, white) and see how well that works. I will post my results tomorrow.
