I might have framed it slightly further to the left and tried to hone the focus on the front of his helmet, where the face would be. as it is, it seems to be focusing on his forehead or the top of his head. and the saturation is almost blinding.

Second what googlit said. The light is really harsh, might have benefited from some diffusion of the light.

I agree, and I think the orange part is a little distracting. But I do like the subject ( <3 legos ).

Thanks for the tips guys. The only lighting I had at the time was my (orange) lamp that I placed right behind him. I'll have to try it again with better lighting sometime. I'm loving the macro though

I'd suggest to increase the DOF. Lower the aperture if possible.
