I think it would hae been better either with more obvious motion blur, emphasising the movement of his arm, or without any. I also find the skin details get a bit lost because the light materials are overexposed.

However, I think the framing, suggesting a diagonal line, is effective.

Thanks Wulf !

I have this problem, I dont look at the areas that are over exposed in any of my shots, but as soon as you point it out (as you so rightly have in a couple of my other pictures as well) , it just so obvious and wonder how i ever missed that part.

Not liking the picture so much anymore...

I'd agree with wulf on this one. It's a great concept and framing, the exposure just needs to be worked on

I think the shot itself is great....really sets a mood and a feeling of emotions letting youalmost create the mans backstory. Overexposed.....yes bad photo....not to me. A few adjustments and you're not going to be perfect but still a great photo in my eyes.....

kunaldaswani,

On what type of monitor do you view your photos, CRT or LCD flat panel?

I use a LCD flat panel and im leaning way back (being the lazy boy that i am) do all my post production. Post it, some one tell me its way over exposed then sit up and say..aaaah! then im too lazy to re-work unless people say its nice and its worth working on...

@xxPinballxx - Thank you!

kunaldaswani,

That's something you can live with! Just thought it might be the reason the 'overs' happen, that what you saw was not what we see here. Monitors are individuals too. Still a rich shot. Do you ever experiment with adding 'noise' to some of these?

If the original was not overexposed then the pose and composition might make it worth some more work (although you've still got the smudge of motion blur to think about).
