Hungry Habits

Taken during an outing to a park last week with some friends.

Very minor color correction, and a slight crop.

Comments and Crits are more than welcome.

Another great shot the only thing I can see wrong is that weird artifact at the top left. I think the shot would be more dynamic if her eyes were open but, you can never control kids. That's why I shoot landscapes they don't move

That "artifact" is her mother. Heh.
She is sitting in her lap.

The original crop from the camera had a little more over her head and behind it, but the mother/"artifact" :P looks even more prominent, so I cropped it.
Would you recomend a tighter crop?

You aren't the first person to mention the closed eyes. I didn't like it as well, but this is the best photo I got of her.
What can I say... Kids!

Seeker,

In another photo, 3/4 pose or straight on, open eyes can make a portrait more alive and personal. Here, even if they were open, you wouldn't see enough to make much difference. I can imagine a child's involvement with food to cause this kind of enjoyment. Might be the sun in her eyes, too. This is a good one.

(If you already did minor color-correcting, you could simply darken Mother "artifact" and still consider it a PhotoShop-free zone. We wouldn't tell.)

Nice shot! The child's head makes a nice triangular shape.

Updated the photo.

How about it now? Too light? Too dark?

The camera (and lens) I have is a Fujifilm FinePix S5200. A 'prosumer' camera. Unfortunately I don't have the cash for a full flegded SLR.
