I don't think its the darkness thats the problem. I think the distance it was shot at is more so a problem. Is it an image you could crop and increase the image size without loosing too much of the quality?
Looks like it wouldbe a great shot if it were a larger size.

I don't think so, it looks excellent to me. The only thing that I may have done differently would have been to crop a bit off the bottom, but a very nice shot.

yep think walk a little closer to the water... or crop the land off if you want a wider angle of St. Pauls

Default Letterbox shaped?

I'd be interested to see this as a long narrow crop losing some of the foregound and sky - it might have more visual punch with St Pauls and the other light sources and less empty space.
