Default Tired Girl

I'm not real good at the black and white effect yet. How's this one? I tried to play with the channel mixer a little. I love this picture just because it's the story of my children's lives - Sick and tired of Mommy taking their picture! LOL I asked my 7 year old daughter to be my model and this is what she looked like after about 20 minutes

i think you nailed it. i really like how soft the photo is. the black and white's of the person are seperated enough from the background.

SugarMama,

You could convince me to buy Canon with this, if you also showed the taking of it. Classic beauty for which b/w is known and appreciated. Well done

What can be said that hasn't been. This is one beautiful shot. And keep taking pictures of that model of yours. Someday she'll get her own camera and get even with you.

SugarMama,

I agree with all the above comments....nice job here! I like the overall composition and I think the frame is a nice addition.

One thing that caught my eye early on, however, was the grass line near the top of the photo...it's slanted and not parallel to that lovely frame. Maybe it's just me, but it seems to create a slight distraction. Could you crop this out or perhaps rotate the whole shot? You might want to get a second opinion on this...sometimes perfect lines aren't always ideal.

Other than that, well done!

Wonderful effect here - great tonal depth on the hat and her hair, and good DOF as well. I do find the small flowers a tad bit distracting - maybe some cloning would take care of those. I also find the bokeh a tad bit grainy for me - I would up the blur level a bit in PP. Otherwise, this is a really wonderful shot.
