sunny

My intention here is to draw your eyes, to mine, basically.

Have I over-done the increase in colour of my eye?

It was taken sat at my desk, as the sun was setting outside, creating the warm light, i haven't upped the saturation or lightness or anything.

I like the picture, but what can i do to improve it?

Oh, and the shadow of the cap, i feel gives it a nice mood, do you think it is just distracting?

Thanks, Mike

I actually like it but I do think the skin tone could be more to the normal as apposed to the reddish shade that its getting from the sunset. The shadow is nice but I think it is a bit too low. Maybe if it was just above the eyebrow.
As for the eye color I like it. I think its great.....nice photo though all in all. Just a couple things that might ahve made it a touch better. give it another try and play with some more. Nice expression though....the eyes are our windows right?
good job in my opinion.

Like pinball said, the skin is to red, To much saturation. And it should be cropped a little closer to the eye.

I think that your edits are better than the first one. My thoughts are that if you want your eye to stand out, the first edit really accomplishes that. But, the skin tone seems really cool. In the second edit, the skin tone looks much more natural, but the eye doesn't stand out as much. So, knowing that you want to make your eye stand out, I'd work with the first edit maybe.

sunny b&w
I'd already done a black and white one, but i think i prefer the one with a hint of colour, as Nicole says. Thanks for the feedback!

mikeandsouth,

For another photo another time, consider no cap shadow with a selective band of light focussed across eye(s). Done right, it's effective. These are good starts to your goal.

yeah I guess the B&W isn't quite capturing the look i think you're going for. Now that I see a few the first one is the one I prefer as far as mmaking my eyes go to yours. Good thing we are working with dgital images huh?
