Default Aloes and succulents

I've been eyeing these aloes, on the open plot down the road from me, for a couple of weeks and finally got round to photographing them yesterday.
On the 3rd photo, I rather like the darker area in the front with the light at athe back, but let me know what you think.

I think the shading of the third photo works but the framing seems a little off. If it had been my shot, I would have wanted a bit more to the bottom and right, perhaps losing some of the information at the top and left. That would have cast two plants as the main subjects, along the same diagonal axis as the shading (see suggestion below).

purplepixie,

First has a good strong color combination, smart to set against sky

Second's texture is almost palpable

Third, color and texture are subtle, sensuous.
