Default First Curtain Sync...

I recently discovered I was able to control my flash on my Canon Rebel so I decided to shoot my friends band (Alucard) at a couple shows this weekend. Lemme know what you think, this is my first time using first curtain sync ever.

So great shots, wonderful use of light.

First curtain sync - where the flash fires at the beginning of the exposure - is the most commonly used version, so if you've ever taken a flash photo before, then you've used first curtain sync.

Yeah. The other sync mode is second-curtain sync where the flash fires just before the shutter closes.

Lance Nelson,

First one could be an album (cd) cover, just really special, good graphic, expression of singer, composition. Good shots overall

Thanks for all the replies and comments!

I guess I never realized that flash was firt curtain sync whenever you use it because I've never been able to produce shots like these until the other night. I guess I just needed to play around with settings a lot more in low light situations because the lighting at these two venues was absolutely horrible!
