This is an action shot taken today in the fast waters of the Ottawa River.

I use a Nikon D50,Nikon 70-300VR1:4.5-5.6,Nikon 28-105mm1:3.5-4.5D, Nikon 24-50mm1:3.3-4.5D,Nikon 50mm1:1.8D,Nikon 24mm1:2.8D. Speedlight SB-50DX, SB-600.
I also use ,on occasion my NikonF100...

I think it might have been better if you had used a slightly slower shutter speed to create some motion blur which would give a feeling of speed.
