Bo_,
When the pollen shows, it's a pretty good photo. Great patience you have, and you picked camera settings that seem to have worked. Very natural look. If you "plant" bits of very sweet fruit (such as dates, figs) in a good b/g area, often you get a variety of insects to visit where you want.

Bees are tricky to capture - I took a lot of shots yesterday lunchtime, kept three and even what I think of as the best of them wasn't that great:
![]() My reflections on the process? 1. It might help to a faster shutter speed. That shot was f/22 at 1/40s; a wider aperture and faster speed would probably have helped avoid the motion blur, as long as I didn't end up with too narrow a depth of field. 2. As the light was fairly constant, it may have been sensible to set the camera for a particular bunch of flowers and then wait - even using a tripod and standing back a bit so as not to scare the bees off. 3. It is hard work but, when you get a shot where the hair and pollen is crisp, you know it was all worthwhile! Wulf |
