Talking sunset in Thailand

a boat

Is it too dark? I tried not to adjust it too bright because it's the sunset.

I feel like something is missing. How could I make this picture better?

Thank you y'all.

Hmm... it does still seem pretty dark. the silhouette of the boat on the water is great. I probably would have framed it further left, as the sun itself is off-frame.

this is what I did with it:

Hi,

Im no expert at all but i think the photo lacks a focal point. I reckon you should either feature the sun, the boat or the people more prominently.
I think you should have moved behind the woman and include the sunset using the rule of thirds.
I understand maybe you dont know the woman so you cant get right behind her, but if you were to move back and to the right, you could have got a silhouette of a woman under a silhouette of a tree looking at the sunset.
I think if you pointed more towards the sunset, the camera would have adjusted itself and given nice silhouettes of the tree and woman/people.
It is still a nice picture though, Interesting.

Very nice picture, but I find the people on the right distracting. If you had moved your camera to the left, you could have captured the sun setting and left the people out of it.

Dito to Azam007uk's comments. Using the 1/3 rule, would place the sun in the middle left 1/9, and the silhouette of the tree limbs in the top right 1/9, with the sand in the lower right, trying to frame the boat in the middle. Just another thought from a newby to creative photography.

THANK YOU SO MUCH. Now I know what is missing.
It's the sun and little little more light.

Cropping part of the top and bottom off to change the aspect ratio would help the photo. Also having more on either side... the sun or the person sitting would help
