Okay this is an example of what I spoke about in Peach Rose. There are some parts that did come out nicely sharp, but its...all the wrong things. How do you control that better? I did take this handheld so I know that would help a little.
Here are the specifications of this shot:

Exposure Time = 1/45"
F Number = F3.2
ISO Speed Ratings = 140
Shutter Speed Value = 5.5 TV
Aperture Value = 3.4 AV
Max Aperture Value = F3.25
Metering Mode = CenterWeightedAverage
Focal Length = 13.7mm
Subject Distance Range = Macro

Alrighty, any tips and critques are greatly appreciated!

Thinking_Mommy,

First, do you center the area you want sharp in the viewfinder [ ] ? It's an obvious issue, but a critical one, and you'd be surprised how many don't do it.

Thinking_Mommy,

Then as you half-depress your shutter button, does that set your focus, etc., and do you make absolutely sure you're still on-subject as it does? See where I'm headed? Handheld, do you ever notice a slight rocking to your stance?
