wordsmithereens,

Guessing you probably took others where rail did not fall on horizon; did it look confusing that way? Longer I look at this, the better it gets. Only real issue for critique is right side partial post. Just that 1/2 thing takes my attention away. Very good otherwise.

I thought about the post - there was a notice of some sort posted on it that was distracting. Maybe I could eliminate it altogether like the left side ...?

Good point about the horizon. I did take a couple others; I'll look at them again with the horizon in mind.

Thanks!

wordsmithereens,

Seems that taking things out is harder for me than what to shoot in the first instance. Here I'd have a look at it without the post, see if it stands.

First time I've seen the horizon/rail alignment so I just guessed it would be cluttered if you had rail-horizon-rail-grass-rail.

Here's the one without the post http://www.pbase.com/tjod/image/79401556

I think it looks better than the half post and more balanced with the left. Thanks for the idea.

I'm going through a lot of older photos, so my hindsight will get a good workout!

Yes better. My hindsight could use exercise, too . . .
