Default Sky after a storm

This is a picture of the Kurhaus Hotel in the Netherlands on the beach. There was a big storm few minutes ago. Tell me what you think about it, especially the sky.

The sky is fantastic and the buildings work well to give it some context. I think the weakest part is the bottom left corner - flat grey sky and the building line gets much lower. I would be tempted to crop off the left hand side of the picture to give a square format.

I agree with the above statement about the bottom left corner. I would be tempted to play with the saturation in the clouds a bit too, maybe pump it up...

What a great cloud formation. Was this as you saw it or did you do some post processing or HDR work to get the tones? Too bad the base of the buildings are cropped off. Otherwise a great photo and I agree with wulf and Scottie137's observations. Thanks for sharing that image with us.

mathieauginod, Welcome

There's an old testament painting quality in the overall look, and the issues with the left side and bottom are unfortunately taking away some of the grandeur. Can you go back?

Hi guys,

thank you all for your comments.

I had to crop the bottom of the picture because the foreground was full of beach umbrellas and it did not really fit with the mood of the picture.

Here is a picture I shot before the same storm. You can see what I mean for the foreground.

@clockdoc: no processing at all and no HDR. I let my Powershot A70 do the job.
@jiminyClickit: no going back unfortunately. I can't find the original shot anymore.

Thank you guys again

I think the tiniest bit of cropping would do it some further justice, the sky is awesome, I love storm skys and regularily taking pics of them myself.

Well done
