Default Poppies

Please gve me some feedback on this one: I did some postprozessing with Picasa Just enhanced the colors a bit.

Poppies

What do you think? I know of course about the rule of thirds but I think even though I think this works, no?

Lovely colours and a good shot. I like the blue sky behind the red. Maybe try cropping a little bit off the bottom.

Yes, that is what I thought too, but I didn't want to get rid of the nice "frame" around the poppies (the grass stuff on both sides of the picture) and would have ended up with some weird format
Thanks for the comment!

Liacs,

Always a pleasure to see your work. If you ever find that a "weird format" is not necessarily a bad thing (it took me about 3 months to accept that), you could get very close to a "thirds" (poppies one, horizon another) by trimming top and bottom. And despite the "rule," this is a fresh look and can stand on its own.

Wow what a wonderful image I wish I took this shot myself. I could only take it so far since the original source online is so small and comrpessed but I would have darkend the sky a little and added some more green.

@murtasma: small and compressed??? If you click on the picture you can find a button "All Sizes" and there it is bigger
But good one. Yeah, that is an enhancement.

@jiminyClickit: I use weird formats the whole time when you look at my flickr space. But I thought I would try not to do it too much...

Thanks for your kind words!

Awesome thanks I am at work right now, but I can do another edit on this when I get home. The last one took about 2 minutes so with this higher resolution image I can take it even further. I may attempt to do a painting this time around.

Looks really nice. Well exposed. Colors are nicely enhanced. The only thing I would have done differently would have been to slightly crop it to get rid of the grass on both sides of the flowers, since they're the focal point after all.
