It distracts a little. I think the main failing of this picture is that the depth of field is very shallow and the "sharp zone" is placed in such a way that you can see some of the texture of the velvet but large portions of the glass are completely blurred.
I would be inclined to crop to focus on the sharper glass - if you still have all the bits, another session with the glass might not go amiss to see what else you can do with it. Wulf |

Tx wulf, I think you may be right. Still have the glass - will give it another try and repost.

I think the crop works better, although that blurry blob on the left is still distracting. I look foward to seeing what you get on the second session, when hindsight can become foresight!

Removing the OOF parts was bold and helped photo. Less is more (Back when burning trash was accepted practice, we used to see all sorts of melted bottles afterward. This looks better.)

Tx Jiminy. I think these were from an very small informal settlement formed by fisherman on the mountain. I guess the fires scared them off. Found ome really interesting pieces - will post more pics sometime.
