Default B&W Dog

Hey all. Well I was bored, and so I decided to try to get a shot of my sisters new dog. Well I got a picture of her in the window seal, and decided that I would mess w/ it in grayscale in Lightroom. Well, here's my attempt at it.

Nice shot imo, but then again i am slightly bias toward b+w and dogs.

deathbyevilspoon,

Or shall I call you Mr. death or Mr spoon, I like the photo but the dog tends to blend in with the wall below the window. Try bumping up the contrast a little to bring him(her ) out. Other than that, I too am a fan of dogs (I have 3) and black and white.

Lovely image - agree on the contrast - will also bring out the detail in the lace curtains.

Well here is my second shot at it, w/ some more contrast and brightness was brought up just a tad. Was a tough shot because it was brighter outside the window than it was inside the house when I took it.

Added bonus of lifting out some of the hairs on the dog's back - well done

Thanks...I just saw her on the window seal, and knew I had to get a shot of it.

Hi,
I like your second shot much better. You have gained a bit more shadow detail from inside the house. The wide aperture has thrown the exterior (what is still visible) nicely out of focus so it doesn't compete with the dog for attention. As others have mentioned, I ,too, am a fan of black and white. Thanks for sharing your work withh us.
Sincerely,
Lee- 'clockdoc'
