Default Fire Limits

For those that are interested:

One of Rotterdam 2007's projects recently hit the news. On 14 May 2007, the wartime bombardment of Rotterdam will be commemorated by an artistic event to mark the fire limits. These are the borders of the area totally destroyed in the bombing and the resulting conflagration. Intense beams of light will shine into the sky at points along the fire limits, making the scale of the horrific event tangible to everyone.

I'm surprised this one didn't get any comments - here is the picture for those that didn't take the time to click on the link:

I think the photo is fascinating, although I wonder if a bit of post-processing work would be good to bring out the beams of light more clearly?

That's lovely. I had to stop and look up what bombing you were talking about though. American public school education.

It is part of my quiet campaign following up the "with respect..." post I made last week. There is such a volume of posting on the forum that I find it hard to keep up, especially when somebody starts asking for critique on a bunch of photos in quick succession.

In order to stay sane (-ish ) I tend to skip over new requests from people who have flooded the first page of that section with lots of requests and also those which I haven't contributed to but which I see lots of other people have been involved in. However, I want to continue making a positive contribution, so I have figured out how to look back and pick posts that nobody noticed the first time round, sharing a little of the love around.

As with this shot, I seem to be digging up some interesting pictures and it is very satisfying to be giving them a second chance to garner some feedback.
