Hey guys!
Well this is my first post in 'Critique My Shot', aren't you all just sooo excited! Haha, okay maybe not... but here it is! This shot was, well it was taken tonight actually. I took one like this earlier with my Fuji S9500, but since I got my new D80 (3 days old now!) I thought I'd go take it again, and make it not blurry! It could possibly be a BIT too blurry, but I do like it still ![]() I shot it in RAW, and used the trial of Apple's Aperture to edit the RAW file. The exposure was edited in Aperture and changed from 0.0 to 0.75. That's all the post-production that has been done on this shot. The full specs can be found on flickr HERE
So what do you think aye? Honestly I don't mind criticism, it's the way that you can learn! Thanks, - leighton

hmmm... i'm not sure what has gone on here, it sorta looks about f1.6 rather than 5.6 but hey ho... I actually really like the light and colors, I would use it as a background or something... cropping out the bottom bit (is that a washer nailed to a board?) Odd, sorta weird... but I like it

Yeah I didn't understand why it's f/5.6 either! I took pretty much the same shot with my Fuji at f/4something and if is heaps sharper.
I think it's because of the focal length? I found only recently that if you zoom, the background gets even blurrier! You guys probably already knew that, but I think that's why this image is so blurry. The Nikon, Aperture and Flickr says f/5.6... wierd - but I still like it ![]() Thanks, - leighton edit: Oh yea, it's some little lights that are about 40mm in diameter. They are placed on timber boards all over Southbank in Brisbane, and get lit up at night - looks sweet as

I really like this shot. It's fresh, different, unique. Very nice composition with some effective movement. Good lighting and color as well. I like the shallow DOF...lends to the abstract feel of the whole shot. Very artsy! Thanks for sharing and inspiring!
