Default First Campfire of the Season

This was taken tonight about 10:30EST.

This is my first and second attempt at a night shot of a campfire ---- any suggestion at how to make it better would be welcome....

First attempt.

Only thing that changed was time of shot.

I believe I had my settings adjusted to P on the dial with no change in anything except no flash hehehehe.

Rylek,

These are good, not an easy subject to do well and make interesting. Found this posted by NaturesPixel, you may find helpful:

in my low light book by Lee frost he uses...

camp flames : all @ F16
ISO100 2 sec, ISO400, 1/2sec, ISO1600 1/8sec

Person Lit by Camp fire flames... he suggests Aperture of F5.6
ISO 100 2sec, ISO400 1/2 sec, ISO1600 1/8sec

hope this helps.. he also says .. when using these exposures.. you can also Bracket at least 1 stop over or under

each situation will be slightly different.. and use a tripod

Cheers

Thanks a lot. I will try these techniques for sure. We just had this one outside of the house can't wait till we go camping to work on some more --- maybe some pics of peps by the campfire as well....

Thanks
