Default Meerkat at Chester Zoo

Hi there,

I'm a new member of DPS, and thought I'd share a photo of a meerkat I took at Chester Zoo last weekend.

I've only had my D200 for about three weeks, so I'm still learning. Love to hear your thoughts on this shot. Its been cropped, and had an 'auto-levels' performed on it in photoshop. Other than that, its how it came out of the camera.

Nikon D200
Sigma 18-200 lens
Shot taken at 1/60 f6 (if I'm reading the original exif info correctly!)

Cheers
Dave

Welcome Dave, Nice shot, the only thing that I would have done differently would have been to crop a bit more of the left of the shot so that only the rock and trees were background. But thats just my opinion, I'm just a beginner myself but I'm sure that you will get more constructive advice from some of the more experienced people on here.

John.

Default Nice Capture

I really like it. My only suggestion is to remove the long tiny hair that is coming out of the left side of his head. My eye keep going there as if it's a scratch.

In my opinion that looks much better, I know you said you took it at Chester zoo but it looks much more natural now. Nice work.

The photo is nice and I like the cropping but maybe a little sharpening because the lower part is a little shacky.
