Thank you for you comments jiminyClickit , I took these pictures in London at the Windsor Castle with my Canon 400d . The unique architectual element as you rightly said is actually a part of the castle. I really liked all your comments and would try to correct them in future shots(a good learning for me) however i didnt quite understand your comments on picture two.
Like i said these are my first pictures i have ever posted on any site/forums and your comments are the first ones i have got and would remember for my life ) thank you.

sharkmachine,
You have reminded me that words have power and can help or hurt, so how Critique is approached, matters. Always remember this, too: everything here is each person's version of what looks good. I can't say "what looks right" because photography, like any art form, is subjective. Your second photo has a level base of stones, and a slope to the line of the parapet. If I were to take a photo of that, I believe I would like to see the edge of the roof horizontally level, and the base slanted upwards. But I didn't take the photo, so it's just a thought and a feeling I have about levels. Your three photos tell me that more good critiques will come your way, and I hope that any negative ones do not discourage you. Here, they are sort of an encouragement to look at things in more ways than the usual. Mostly we are all explorers in the world of light and dark. Enjoy the process!
