utnapistim, Welcome

Simple, pleasant photo. If I were to do anything to it, maybe a step up in contrast. And remove the little white spot, upper right (insect?) Overall good photo.

I definitely agree about the "insect" spot - if the beastie were in clear focus or if there were a lot more of them it would be fine but I think it distracts. Otherwise, I think the shot is great - I am not sure I would even want to push up the contrast any more (although it is easy to try - create a duplicate layer above the image, blur it and put it into overlay mode, adjusting the amount of blur and the level of opacity to taste).

You could also try some different colour washes apart from sepia but it doesn't need that... it would just be an idea if you have time and want to play with the image a bit more.

Thanks guys.

I removed the bug and changed the tones a bit:
on the field1 (variant)

I'll play some more with it and see where it gets me

The bug removal was good. The new tone is okay but perhaps a bit cold. I was thinking more of leaning towards rich golds and yellows. Perhaps some kind of gradient map rather than a flat wash?

i really like the original, sans bug. the blue tone doesn't really work with this picture. sephia or an orange tone conveys warmth and summer. blue makes me think cold winter which this scene isn't.
