Default Portrait - Crop too tight?

Please critic. Is the crop too tight?

I don't think so ..
But it would be more appropriate if post the actual picture too.

can you provide details about how you did your shot.

No, I think it is a fantastic composition. If it were my picture, the two elements I would be fussing over would be:

(a) a little more light on the eyes might be nice, making the iris more visible.

(b) the nose stud looks like a blemish on the picture. It might look better with it removed or with the head in a different position (even facing the other way so that the stud is seen on the near rather than the far part of the nose).

No, I don't believe the crop is too tight. I agree with Wulf about the eyes.

Beautiful woman and beautiful composition. Believe her eyes are great like they are, luminous and mysterious. Unusually smooth complexion. Doesn't look like she has any make-up on. Am I mistaken?

Hey thanks for all the feed back. I just recently read while shooting portraits to try and focus on the eyes (i just randomly focus on any part of the face) So point noted, will focus on the eyes next time to get more detail and will also keep the nose stud in mind.

No the model (my girlfriend, who is going to kill me soon for taking so many pictures of her at every opportunity i get) was not wearing any make up. It was taken after a long day at work, no studio light or anything, just a table light directed on her face. dirty background, hence the tight crop and as leisa mentioned the light being a little weak

Once again thanks for all the feedback, biggest thing i learnt by posting this image is getting more detail from the eyes which i did not think was as important for a portrait image as is!

I love the photo and, no, I think that the crop is not too tight. It directs the viewer to the subject's eyes which are great!
