Striking photo - only adjustment i would make is to crop of the bottom left corner a tad more - the black spot down there is a bit distracting.

Great tonal depth, depth of field, and detail in the knot.

kunaldaswani,

Congratulations on turning Senior! Hope to see hundreds more photos, too.

Textures are not easy to get in a two-dimensional medium, but you have done well here in simplifying the "hairy-ness" of your subject. The position makes it seem the loop is swinging a little, and I might have panned right and up just a little to give the bottom area some room. Different eyes, different perspective. You're doing good work.

Thanks you for your encouragement! I owe all i all know to DPS and senior members like you so thanks!

P.S. On what basis does one become a senior member?

kunaldaswani,

Seniors have posted over 100 pictures/comments. It's a symbolic encouragement to participate, which is probably why you feel encouraged! The more you do, the better you get. Glad to hear we add to your skills, and I hope, your enjoyment of photography. Your shooting is still the best teacher.

Great picture! Only the bottom left corner looks a bit strange, but that's just pure nitpicking. Took a look at your blog and loved your work. You won a spot in my google reader account!
