Default Albuquerque Sky

Thanks for your input in advance. This was a pre-sunset time pic of a particularly gorgeous day here in Albuquerque. What do you all think?

The colors are lovely and it has a nice serene feeling. The tree throws it off though. Either no tree at all so it is not a distraction or more tree to break up the sky a bit. Usually just pretty sky alone can make an uninteresting shot by itself. You need something to draw your eye to a focal point.

Thanks - The original shot was made near my place and has some nasty power lines and junk besides that tree in it. I could not get to a better vantage point before the sky faded to something less vivid. I tried to rescue this one but to crop of more of the bottom would kill the shift to orange as well.

i'd love to see this sky with power lines. I'd name it "wired" .)

That's the problem I have with sunsets around here. There are always power lines, telephone poles, ugly buildings, or something in the way .

I agree, I think more of the tree will improve the shot a lot. Although the sky is a lovely colour, I still feel the image needs something more.

Do you have an image with more of the tree and the power lines or with more of the tree and the powerlines cloned out?

I reworked this a bit leaving more of the city distractions in - I think it does help but may still be too bleh... I think the composition just sucked on this one.

Default Foreground

Now we can see the best part of sunset. But I still need a horizon to describe how low is the sun. You may improve the photo by selecting an intereting foreground like others already mentioned..tree, power line or road. You may split 2/3 for the sky and 1/3 for the foreground.
