I like the second one better I think it shows off the buildings better although they are alittle crooked. There is too much distraction in the first one and also too much sky for they type of shot I think you were going for.

rlarsen,

You might also give yourself more framing time. Areas and subjects are cut off in distracting ways. Count to ten while lining up a shot, and look at all four edges of your viewfinder. Are you lefthanded?

I like the top image, actually. I like the buildings aiming up to the extreme blue sky. I don't think the buildings themselves are that interesting, not due to the shot... they just don't seem that interesting to me.

However, I think I'd like it best if it was exactly centered, instead of slightly off to the right.

Also, both images are tilted to the right slightly.

(All I ever use to process photos is iPhoto, and its Straighten feature saves my lines...)

I'm gonna vote for the top one too.

I like the contrast of the busy bottom half, and the very plain, but beautiful top half.

I do think the buildings (and the space between them could have been centered better.

Just curious, was there anything particular you wanted to convey with the shot?

No, I am right handed. Why do you ask?
How do you straighten them?
I like Construction. I like to see how the buildings go up and there is a lot going up in Las Vegas.

Do you have a post processing program? Usually you can straighten in that. If you don't have one, try http://picasa.google.com/. It's free, simple and has an easy straightening feature.

rlarsen,

Had a theory that slanted horizons were lower on dominant hand side. Yours is lower on right side.
