HI farmgirl.. You have used the rules of third well. You might want to adjust the contrast plus the contrast of the red channel should be increased a bit as i see some strange dark reddish colour surrounding your photo

It's quite an intriguing shot.
![]() Is it just me, or is the focus a little soft? I would also play with the levels and curves some... it seems a little washed out to me. I love the lighting, though, and the shadow cast on the wall. Also, did you do any Photoshop work? There's this little patch of yellowish between the line on the barn and the shadow, directly to the right of her face. I was just trying to figure out what that was. It's a great composure. Nice work.

This was actually shot on black and white film - I don't have a digital SLR yet - then scanned in to my computer. That could account for any strange colors.
Would it be better to see whatever she was looking at? Or have her just looking straight out instead of down? after playing with the color and contrast a bit: ![]() Thanks for your comments and suggestions so far! |

It would depend on what you're trying to achieve, if youre planning to take a pic of a situation or a moment it would help to capture the elements of the moment, like what she would be looking at, but if youre aiming for a portrait shot then your subject would just be her and you wouldnt need any other element...
Thats my opinion
