Default Hawk

Shot this yesterday while out looking for lake lizards "gators" to shoot. I was standing on a boardwalk that went over a portion of the lake scanning for the lizards, and happened to look to my left, and there he sat, less than a 100 foot from me. He was a ham, cause he sat there for me to get off 83 pics of him before he flew off. I was shooting with a monopod, so when he took off I had a hard time following him.

Fantastic captures! What a beautiful hawk! Love that you were able to catch it in flight...the wing span is amazing!

Third pic is amazing, shame the background is in focus. If you blur the background, it would make the bird much more dominant.

Beautiful catch Love the two shots in flight - if at all possible next time, try to get the eye in focus - that would make these 100%. Gorgeous!

The second, and third shots were pure luck. It took off so fast I actually thought I missed it. It was a nice suprise when I got home to see I didn't.
