This shot was taken with my FujiFinepix2800 Zoom.
I put the soft edges in to hide some distractions. Do you think it works?
Just as an afterthought I cropped it, which do you think works best?

I think that the crop works better than the boarder but I think you cropped it a little too much. Try giving it a little more room.

The second cropped version is wonderful! What a lovely butterfly....beautiful colors! And the flower bunches are providing some great symmetry. Excellent job!

I agree, I think that there is a place for soft edges (portraits etc) but you are right, this wasn't one of them. Thats what I like about this site, honest criticism. And Teewinot thanks for your words of encouragement, its much appreciated. Thanks again,

Wonderful catch of the butterfly - I have never seen one with so many colors.
One thought might be to soften the background - maybe reduce the detail of the foliage so the butterfly becomes the total focus.

I tried that photobyfelix but it didnt seem to look right, but feel free to use the image to show me what you had in mind as I'm not the best at editing yet, bit of a beginner.
