To me it looks like you did a great job. The background is blurred enough to send your focus to the dandelion and the dandelion is in sharp focus all around.
Nice work!

I made a rookie mistake...when I put the photo on my computer I deleted them from the camera and for the life of me I cant remember the settings. I took around 40-50 shots to get a good one. The wife thinks Im nuts for laying in the grass an inch from a weed.

you can still get the info used... right click on the image Choose Properties then choose Details then Advanced ( i think.. i have Vista and I'm trying to remember what it was for XP or previous windows) it should tell you all the exif data from your camera

And ya no crazier than me i lay in the grave yard next door capturing the tiny mushrooms that pop up in spring i hate to think what teh graveyard workers thinks of me ...lol

Nice try, next time, keep in mind to use a lower aperture, like 3.5 or 2.8 the lower the better if you want that great depth of field.

I love to lay down on the grass or dirt or something to get those kinds of shots! loads of fun!

I know its difficult to get underneath these things, but I think a shot that was more side on, showing the shape of the flower and revealing some of those green bits that dandilions would be fantastic.
