Default 547 Nordic

This was a totally unexpected surprise of a shot. I thought the buildings looked kind of cool.

Shawn,

I like the colors in this shot. They capture the urban feel well. I also like the angle you used.

A couple of thoughts:
-The sky is pretty white. I hate it when I find good shots, but the sky is overcast. Perhaps you could shoot the same scene again, but on a sunny day, getting some texture and/or color into the sky. Or you could try cropping this sky out a little so that it isn't as prominent of a feature. You don't want to detract from the buildings and at least my eyes gravitate towards that big white patch.
-The cars are sort of cut in half. Perhaps you could crop them out completely. You could also take the shot again and get the full cars and a little road in. This might give the composition a fuller, more complete look.

Thanks for sharing your shot! I like it!

Teewinot,

Thank you for the feedback. I see what you mean about the cars and perhaps showing some of the street. It would have given the shot a lot more urban feel. As for the sky, the day was pretty much perfect with a deep blue, cloudless sky. Unfortunately, I had just walked outside after having my WB set for fluorescent light and ruined the sky in this one. The only way I could get it to not look almost purple was to wash it out with a vignette.

However, I am mildly happy with the results. Kind of gives it a dreary old city feel to me.

if your good with post editing you could try cropping the buildings out and adding a sky, i guess it would depend on which editing software you ave though as to how easy that would be. I thought the colours were a little over strong in places, and you seem to have very dark areas to the right and bottom left for some reason.
