I shot this of the front of my house about an hour or so after sunset. My hope was to get the house looking semi-normal, except with lights blazing out of all the windows, and some stars/the moon in the backgorund. I don't really feel that i have acheived this though. I kinda wanted to preserve the original colours, so i only used a moderate amount of flash to light up the front of my house.

Pretty good.
![]() The windows are rather blazing. I've seen shots of a similar nature (long exposure with bright lights) where the lights were turned off partway through the exposure to avoid them becoming so blown out. |

aha, that is a good idea. Except i'd have to be pretty quick on my feet to do that. I'll have ot give it a go in a few days, when i've got time and see how it turns out.
![]() EDIT: jiminyClickit, unfortuneately with my camera, not being a dSLR i actually cannot go above 16 seconds sutter time. but i'll have to try it with a higher ISO (i think around 125-160 should do it) and just deal with the image noise (also a shortcoming on my camera), also, I might just try taking it eariler in the evening, I have to admit it was pretty dark at the time when i took it.
