I like the low angle you went with here--not something you see very often. I also like the diagonal framing of the grass.
I'm not sure I'm distracted by the sky as a whole so much as I am the dark streaks in the sky--branches from a nearby tree or bush, maybe? I find myself looking at them and wondering what they are rather than paying as much attention as I should be to the grass itself. Regardless, nice, fresh angle, and I like the composition.

The dark blurs over the sky look like something very out of focus (I've had similar problems with hair on windy days). The bean bag would have helped avoid any camera shake and might have got the grass a bit crisper.
I think the shot (or something similar) might benefit from a bit of post processing to make the green a bit brighter; it is a touch underexposed because the camera is also trying to cope with the brightness of the sky. Wulf |

Im fairly new to photography myself and could be completely wrong, but my guess is that you used a very wide aperture to achieve a shallow depth of field throwing the background/sky out of focus, which would seem to be the right thing to do in order to prevent the viewer from being distracted from the grass by the background. But perhaps the aperture was a bit too wide. Would a slightly smaller apperture have increased your depth of field enough to keep more of the blades of grass in sharp focus but still have achieved enough blurring of the background to prevent the viewer being distracted? Anyway, good luck with it, regardless of any technical issues with image sharpness which may or may not exist I think the extreme camera angle makes this a very interesting image. |

Thanks for the comments and suggestions. It was a windy day when I took the photo. There probably is camera shake due to the fact I was in a akward position trying to achieve the angle. I'm using a Kodak Z612 and typicaly use the auto settings, but have been trying to learn the manual settings. The info on this shot is f 4.8 1/200. I do need to invest in a tripod. Thanks again for the input.
