Smile Butterfly garden

Butterfly garden

This picture was taken at the Butterfly Garden at Epcot Center, Orlando. with my Sony DSC-T3 point and shoot (nothing professional about that! ). No alterations have been made yet. I just love the way it came out.

Being a Sony User myself I can appreciate the shot!! My LCD screen really shows the brightness of the flowers the butterly is on. I think it would look better cropped tight IMHO because the nothingness in the top right distracts me a bit. I think it would serve the colors better if they were closer.

A lovely capture! Great colors! I do agree with Christa about cropping the top portion. The colors there, IMHO, don't add much to the photo. If you do crop, I'd love to see the results .

Oh, I love it just the way it is! The crop surely can make interesting aspects of this great photo. Yet, this is one of my favorite concepts; when there's so much going on in the picture making it very vibrant, and yet everything perfectly fits in its place. I'll explain... The colors are well balanced: the blue is nicely distributed across the picture and the brown background balances brown butterfly. Upper part of the picture is a background. It's further away giving the depth to the picture and making the flowers and the butterfly in the foreground pop up even more. Also the butterfly is in the center of the picture, where it charmingly confronts and chalenges the viewer the most. I simply love this photo. Thanks for posting!

I love the shot......beautiful colours, lovely details, but i would crop the top 1/5th and thew right 1/5th bringing it tighter to the flower and butterfly.

Sara I kinda disagree that when you are trying to get the detail and colors to pop even more you need depth such as shown above. Maybe if you were looking at the butterfly from a different agle DOP would be an addition to the photo but when the photo is a direct on portrait. The DOP distract form the focus.

Just my opinion. I love doing this back and forth with you though, tag your it

DSC02238cropped

I cropped the image trying to eliminate the most of that brown spot on the top right part. I'm not sure I got it completely right (you can still see a bit of brown). The thing is I wanted to keep most of the flowers, so this is how it came out.

I have another photo I took that day but it's a bit blurry. Here it is:

Feel free to comment. Thanks for the very constructive feedback!!!

thats too tight IMHO, the flowers now just bother and compete with the butterfly, give it some more room
