BlueEyedNanuk,

Thank God I don't do photography for a living. The quality in this forum alone is daunting. Your description almost makes it sound easy to get a shot like this. Curves everywhere add to the peaceful countenance of Charlie. I aspire once again.

There are sme elements of the pic that I like and some I don't.

I like the comfortness of the cat, your pic really show this and I think you did a great job not letting the flash over power the subject or add shadows that can distract.

I can't figure out in the cat is in a bag or not. There seems to be a handle or something in the pic that is a little distracting. If the cat is in a bag I think it would've been nice to see the lower right corner lines not be so cropped out. It would be cool to see the extension so that you can say she is tucked in.

I was wondering what would the pic look like if you kept the cat at it's levels but brightened the bag a little? Can you do that but still keep the color?

I like it! Looks like a leather desk chair and i think its the arm of the chair thats distracting me. Other than that the cat itself is a great shot. I would play with it and see if a more cropped shot would give it a better feel.

Bingo! It's my desk chair.
Thank you for all the comments.I was particularly impressed with the sharpness, dark to light contrast and the expression of comfort and content.
On my screen and in print the chair is visible. You might need to adjust your screen settings a little.

I'm a little confused with jiminiclicket's remarks. Can't tell if you are approving or not. (...daunting countenance?) The shot was actually easy to achieve. It was the expression which was accidental or rather coincidental.

Thanks everyone.

What a tranquility... It looks like a perfect excuse to quit your work and let the cat sleep there as long as he/she pleases

Really good work with the flashes. I've noticed that more visible and sharper flash shadows lately in various comercial's photos; and they are carefully composed. The shadow behind the whiskers reminds me of such effect.

BlueEyedNanuk,

If we were all competing for one photography job, it is daunting to see how far behind I am.

Charlie's smile lines are reflected in chair curves.

I liked it very much.
