I really like the second one with the person with outstretched arms.
The sky has some amazing colors to it.....
I think its a great pic.

I like the second picture a lot as well...but I wish I could see the figure more fully, because of the angle you can't see the left arm I think I would like to see the arm. Great sunsets!

you're right maybe if the figure was a 1/4 turn more. More of a 45 degree angle with the shot.
Still I love the sky......

purplepixie,

First sky is wonderful, and choice of riders' position is good. If only second sky was as full as first. Still a good shot.

Hi everyone

These shots are very personal and important to me, so tx for the feedback.

I always find it useful to hear what others think would improve a shot... it makes you recalculate next time before you shoot.

Noordhoek Beach is my favourite. During certain times of the year a lagoon covers a large part of it, this then dissappears during the dry season (this is due to the surrounding wetland's influences)

I love the sky colors in both shots. I really like the 2nd photo but if the person had their back to you, it would look like they were trying to fly into the sky.

I'm really into #1. Maybe because I love the horses. Their reflections in the water are wonderfull. And the last of the shiluettes looks like Centaur (part man, part horse). I'd crop off the right part, and have only horses in the pic, with a bit space in front of them and behind the last horsman. I'd keep the horizon on the 1/3rd of the shot.

The second one is great too (it's just that I find the first one more unusual )

You have some really nice pictures. Try experimenting cropping them in various ways, play with composition, you'll soon get the right feeling for it.

Love the colours that are going on in the pics&think the person agaisnt the sky is great but do agree that different positioning would make far more impact. But great pics.

purplepixie,

After further deliberation I like #2. Both are great shots, but in number 2 you have a shot nobody expects. Everyone expects the person to be turned more towards the camera. I think it's great because the person is Not turned towards the camera. And the colors are magnificent!
