Default Piper at Inca Ruins



I'm new to this forum . . . and fairly new to photography in general. I'd appreciate any comments you might have to improve my work.

I'm not a technically inclined photographer, so you'll have to ask someone else for the techy stuff, but from an aesthetic point of view...

Personally, I think you're too far from the action to make the most of it, the background and forground are both pretty dull and the subject isn't all that interesting either. I think perhaps you would have been better getting closer and perhaps showing more of his face (more urban portrait style).

Either that or moving around to show a more interesting background might have helped.

Boosting the saturation would give the image more life... also, cropping some of the rocks out (at the bottom) might bring the focus of attention to the piper a mit more.

I think you have a problem with white balance and contrast.. I agree with mdeeter
