Default Turtle

Hello, my first post, been lurking this forum for a while.

I actually like this picture, and was wondering how it could be improved. I deliberately overexposed it (maybe a little too much) to give the impression of a hot day.

thanks

Default Turtle Post Processing

Hi,

I hope you don't mind. I took the liberty of working with your photo a little in PhotoShop. What I did was selected the turtle using the pen tool at something like 400%, really selecting for each pixel hoping to not get an odd haze around the turtle. I adjusted levels of the turtle, darkening it. Then I adjusted curves, also darkening. I adjusted curves just a bit on the entire photo. Then I adjusted master saturation just on the turtle.

In the original, the turtle got lost in the background. My goal was to make him pop out a bit more to be the focal point of the photo. If you have photoshop, you could play with this idea however you want.

amgine,

If you want to go farther, your photo can take a punch, too:

Mostly a bump in contrast, then some brightening. Some loss of detail, probably won't happen in PhotoShop.
