My Table, My Rules !!!

I only post pictures i am not sure about so please critic. i saw these bunch of kids playing on the street and this guy explaining the rules to the other kids so i had to shoot.

I kinda like it, i kinda think its too busy... but wanted to show the surroundings and how kids can have fun anywhere! What do u think? Nice or just another picture!

kunaldaswani,

From the title, it's about the dealer, so the other kids being most in shadow is OK. Would like to see second most important (by your statement), the complete hipshot LG in foreground, and her feet. Some cutoffs distract.

You've told a good story here. A little high contrast may be part of that story. Angle, just right.

I love the shot. It is a bit busy but it suits the shot.

I also thought the contrast was a bit high and it looks a bit artificially sharpened rather than naturally crisp (apparent sharpening halos on some parts of the image). I would like to see a toned-down version to compare.

As others have remarked though, a good arrangement of the subjects, giving the story.

I prefer this one, although some areas are getting blown out especially on the table. I think the resulting tones are more natural. If anything, it could probably be pushed another step in this direction as long as that could be done without losing any more detail.

I think the first shot is great. This tells a story and it's fun. I like the contrast in the first image better than the 2nd. Great capture.

I think Wulf was right on the money. When I saw the original post, the first thing I thought was that it was too contrasty.

It seems like you fixed it up pretty well.

Beyond those critiques, I think it's a powerful capture. It tells a great story. i realize that you're going for a "kids can have fun anywhere" composition, but maybe you can try to crop out the top and see how it works? Not sure if it'll be better or worse, but I don't think it hurts to try.
