Default Field of...um...Dreams...?

I took this shot just after sunset from a hill over looking the ploughed paddocks just before the crop are put in. I was going for the converging lines technique talked about on here a little while ago. The original photo wasn't that great, and the colours were pretty odrinary, but i found that if i turned it to B&W, most of this was hidden.

Here she is...

In that last shot, looking at it a second time i kinda felt that the image would work better if it was the other side that i chopped off. So gave it a go and got this:

Then i kinda went into crazy spur of the moment cropping mode and made another, which i would post here but Flickr must have decided that it didn;t like me cause it would not upload this image, instead it replaced it with an empty image place holder on the screen. oh well, i'll try again in a little while

here we go, looks liek its working again

Some nice ideas, here's my input:

Pros
There is a good feeling of distance conveyed with the lines
The 'leading lines' have a subject and they draw my eyes there
I like the variety of crops. I prefer the one with the boxes on the left

Cons
There isn't enough contrast between the colours for me, it feels a little flat
The perspective maybe could be made more dramatic if shot from lower-down.

Overall I find your photo a good use of lines to direct the eye and the photo is well composed, unfortunately the tone is a little flat for me.

I kept wanting to straighten it up, cos it made my eyes feel squiffy lol

But I guess thats the effect you were going for so obviously something is right prefer image 2 would have loved to see the original with the colours. Have you thought about doing it with a brownish/goldish tint?
