A little tighter crop would help, but if you do, try not to center the bird. The rule of thirds http://digital-photography-school.co...ule-of-thirds/ will help you compose this better.

I hope you don't mind all criticism

There is something about this pic I don't like and I can't really figure it out. Maybe it's the color of the bird blends with the background and the rock. That really isn't something with your photography skills.

Maybe the blur at the foreground distracts from the bird, but like Sara said a tighter crop could also fix that.

I like it when nature pix have alot of contrast. Sometimes the shot has that but most times it doesn't.

A good point though is that the subject of the photo is intesting. How much more cooler it would have been if you had gotten a shot with the worm hanging out of it's mouth.
