Default First try at macro and the "Cram it" method

I saw a thread where Michael Brown talked about the Cram It method and I wanted to try. Here is a shot I took with a canon point and shoot because I don't have any macro lenses for my 350D. I wasn't expecting much and was plesently surprised with the results. I think it is a bit noisy but I think the lack of focus is very interesting. I didn't have a tripod so I'm curious what my results would have been if I had one with me.

Absolutely beautiful!! Is there a chance you have a shot of the plant in it's entirety or the single flower you shot? Just for curiosity's sake.

Sure, Digidave, here is the flower and the setting. Like I said this was my first try so I didn't take time to setup any lighting and I was shocked how beautiful the colors turned out. All I did was some basic editing in Picasa.

That's a good looking flower, but not so special. Which makes your shot of it even more spectacular! Very well done, indeed!

Or, maybe just lucky?
