Sharp, at least the part I assume you wanted. Great colors, composition's interesting with the shadow offering weight to the bottom.

I tried to focus in on the stamen and pistil (sp?) I dunno if I am supposed to do that for flowers I have some other shots from this series where I focused in on the petals instead...

RexK,

Sort of a personal taste issue, what looks good to you. Unfocussed items lose importance, dark background on one side distracts, these are things to consider when framing a shot. If petals were sharp and pistil was OOF, same thing, distracting. If you learn best by doing, by all means shoot many more photos and look at other flower pics to determine what looks good to you. Compare, see where you could improve, ask many questions, and very soon you will take much better photos.
